Shei-Chau Wang is an Associate Professor of Art and Design Education at Northern Illinois University. A recipient of the Fulbright Senior Scholar Award, he completed a teaching and research residency at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia, during the 2022–2023 academic year. His scholarship focuses on studio-based pedagogy and critically examines the integration of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary approaches in arts education.
As a practicing artist, he utilizes art-based research methods to investigate cultural perceptions and the layered visual memories embedded within space. Wang has exhibited his work in over 20 solo and more than 50 group exhibitions across the United States and Taiwan, as well as in Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Oman, Turkey, and Vietnam. His artwork is held in private collections in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
