Interested in exercise, physical therapy, sport psychology or sport management? Major in kinesiology, the study of mechanics and anatomy as it relates to human movement. With a degree in kinesiology, you can work in a variety of health, wellness and sport performance settings.

You can customize your program to reflect your interests and career goals by choosing to concentrate in wellness or performance. You also can minor in coaching.

Kinesiology Faculty

Our faculty prepare students to succeed and lead in their careers and communities through programs grounded in engaged learning experiences. Our innovative and effective instruction addresses the changing educational and professional needs of our students. Kinesiology faculty research includes skeletal muscle adaptations to exercise training, body composition quantification for health and performance and muscle metabolism.

Hands-on Learning Opportunities

You’ll take classes in several of our teaching and research facilities across campus with state-of-the-art equipment.

In addition to studying scientific principles that regulate behavior, change and performance (physiology, biomechanics, psychology, measurement, gerontology, nutrition), you’ll learn by doing in clinical experiences and community outreach programs, including the Oak Crest Retirement Center Exercise Program.

And you can complete internships in fitness centers, sport performance centers, rehabilitation centers or corporations.
