The Special Collections and Archives Department at Founders Memorial Library consists of two main collecting units: the Rare Books and Special Collections (RBSC) and the Regional History Center and University Archives (RHCUA). Within this scope our facilities house materials related to a diverse range of subject areas and research topics, including American Popular Culture, 18th and 19th Century Literature, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Northern Illinois regional history and culture, and the history of Northern Illinois University.
