Huskie Harvest thrives through the collaborative efforts of dedicated leaders from multiple NIU departments, each playing a key role in its success.

Collaborators

  • Nancy Prange, director of graduate studies in nutrition and dietetics, founded the program and ensures the recovery and delivery of food to campus locations.
  • Clint-Michael Reneau, vice president of Student Affairs, provides oversight and support, ensuring that the program aligns with NIU’s mission to address student needs.
  • Dan Koenen, executive director of Campus Dining Services, coordinates with his team to manage the collection and distribution of surplus food from campus dining events.
  • Abby VanWieren, director of catering, facilitates the recovery of food from catered events, ensuring that high-quality, nutritious meals are repurposed for students.
