AnywherePrints Features
- Secure and suitable for confidential documents, allowing pages to print only when the requester is present to swipe/tap their OneCard or mobile device
- Scanning is available on all printers with options to scan to any email address
- Redundant and flexible locations. A single printer breakdown is of little consequence because print jobs can be picked up from any printer, anywhere on campus
- Departments must make a special request to include the fax feature, but departments will not be charged a monthly fee for the fax (phone) line.
- Letter-size (8.5x11) is available on all model printers. Ledger size (11x17) is only available on Ricoh IM3500 and IM3510 models.
AnywherePrints
- Students: 5 cents black/white and 12 cents color
- Faculty/Staff: 12 cents black/white and 55 cents color
- AnywherePrinters are located in public locations in most buildings
- Huskie Bucks accounts are required for personal printing
- Account charges will only be applied to a personal or departmental account if print(s) are released at a printer
- Print jobs not released from the queue in 24 hours will automatically delete from PaperCut
- Print wirelessly as long as you're connected to NIUwireless and not NIUguest
User Accounts
Student Accounts (Z-IDs)
- Students can print using Papercut WebPrint which can be accessed at webprint.niu.edu
- Print charges submitted using a Z-ID are automatically applied to the student's personal account
Employee Accounts (A-IDs)
- May install the Papercut User Client on their device or use Papercut WebPrint at webprint.niu.edu
- When submittting a job with an A-ID, employees may select either:
- A personal account, or
- A shared (departmental) account, if authorized
Student Employees
- Have both an A-ID and Z-ID account
- Work-related printing should be charged using the A-ID
- All student A-ID accounts have access to shared (departmental) printing. These access cannot be removed while the student is employed.
- Once student employment ends, shared account access is automatically removed
Multiple Appointments
- Faculty, Staff, or Student employees with multiple appointments printing charges are applied to the primary appointment as assigned by HR
- Departments should coordinate internally to manage shared printing responsibilities as needed
Departmental Billing and Cost Centers
Employee OneCards used for copy and print billing are tied to the HR Department Code in PeopleSoft.
*Important:
Only one cost center can be assigned to an HR Department Code. Changing the cost center affects all employees associated with that department Code.
Departments are responsible for:
- Monitoring print usage via monthly PeopleSoft financial reports
- Reviewing and addressing any concerns related to print charges
Any misuse of the shared accounts may be managed through established student or employee conduct policies.
Courtesy Cards
Departments may issue Courtesy Cards when a separate A-ID or Z-ID is not available.
*Important:
Can only be used with the Papercut User Client. Cards wlll not work when using Papercut WebPrint.
- Charges are applied to the HR Department Code linked to the card
- The card number is entered at job submission and swiped at the device to release prints
