Northern Illinois University’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR) (PDF) is published annually in compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).
The report provides an overview of NIU’s campus safety and security policies, the role of the NIU Police Department, crime prevention and emergency response procedures, and resources available to the campus community. It also includes annual statistics for reported Clery Act crimes, arrests, and disciplinary referrals.
In addition, the ASFSR contains fire safety policies, fire system information, and fire statistics for on-campus student housing facilities.
The ASFSR is intended to promote transparency and awareness by providing students, employees, prospective community members, and the public with a clear understanding of campus safety and fire safety at Northern Illinois University.
