In accordance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, which took effect on December 23, 2024, Northern Illinois University provides a Campus Hazing Transparency Report to prioritize transparency regarding hazing incidents. This federal requirement mandates that the University disclose specific information related to reported hazing incidents through required reporting. This report, and all future reports, will:
- Include information about any reported hazing incidents that were found to violate the University’s Anti-Hazing Policy.
- Include required information regarding the nature of the hazing incident, the date and time the hazing occurred, and the sanctions imposed on individuals or organizations found responsible through the University’s conduct process.
- Be updated regularly, and at least twice per year as necessary, as part of the University’s ongoing transparency and prevention efforts.
Northern Illinois University encourages all members of the NIU community to report any allegations of hazing.
