Associate Professor
Ph.D., Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis — Functional Analysis
Sirotkin works in functional analysis, operator theory and the geometry of Banach spaces, with a focus on the invariant subspace problem — one of the most celebrated open problems in all of mathematics. His work encompasses hereditarily indecomposable Banach spaces, positive operators in Banach lattices, compact-friendly operators, the Daugavet property and almost-invariant half-spaces. He has published in the Journal of Functional Analysis, the Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, the Israel Journal of Mathematics, and the Indiana University Mathematics Journal, and serves on the editorial board of Positivity.
