Feliciano-Semidei investigates how students' cultural and community knowledge can be integrated into mathematics instruction — an approach she has pursued through fieldwork in rural Colombian schools as a 2022 Fulbright U.S. Scholar. Her research spans community-based pedagogies, the teaching and learning of calculus, teacher education and mentoring students from underrepresented groups. She co-leads the Research Center for the Teaching and Learning of Calculus and the Women in STEM Education Network, and is the author of Conceptual Mathematics in Society and Caminatas Comunitarias para Enseñar Matemáticas en la Costa Colombiana: Un Enfoque Rural.
