One of the best ways to handle the stress of college life is through fitness. NIU Recreation gives you the tools you need to develop healthy habits and achieve a balanced outlook on life. Use our fitness machines, participate in intramural sports, swim laps, rent a court or outdoor equipment or take an adventure trip.

The Center for Student Assistance (CSA) offers a variety of valuable services, including care and support, legal assistance, military and veterans’ services, access to the Huskie Food Pantry and more.

Renew Your FAFSA for 2026-27

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2026-27 academic year is open. All students eligible for financial aid who plan to enroll next year should complete a new FAFSA or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid each year, as soon as possible, to be considered for the maximum amount of aid.
