Welcome
Sarawak at the Nexus brings together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, artists, community leaders, and students to examine the historical foundations, contemporary challenges, and future trajectories of Southeast Asia. Held in Kuching, on the banks of the Sarawak River, the forum gives particular attention to water, including rivers, watersheds, coastal zones, extreme weather, and maritime networks, as ecological systems, cultural landscapes, and historical pathways.
This website is the home of Track 2: Sustainability and Environmental Challenges in Southeast Asia, which invites interdisciplinary work from the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities on how people experience, interpret, govern, and contest environmental change across the region.
