Affordable Materials Search and Filter for Students

To help students make informed decisions about the courses they choose at the time of registration, it is now possible to search for and select classes that use low-cost (total course materials cost of $40 or less) or zero-cost course materials in MyNIU.

Note: Course materials are defined as required books, textbooks, ebooks, streaming video, CDs or DVDs. Because students using the Book Charge Program must purchase texts through the bookstore, the cost of materials is determined by the bookstore price.

To find courses with affordable course materials in MyNIU, apply the Textbooks/Low Cost or Textbooks/Zero Cost filter to class searches or search by the keyword “low cost.” The low-cost or zero-cost textbooks attribute will be included in the class details.
