With your expertise in strategic management and planning, you’ll be prepared to excel in leadership roles and facilitate the mission of government, private and nonprofit organizations. And you’ll be in good company—one-third of Illinois city and county managers are NIU MPA alumni.
Admission Requirements for NIU's Online MPA: Strategic Public Management and Leadership
You can apply if you have:
- Two years of work experience in public management
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00
- At least one undergraduate course in U.S. government and one in mathematics or statistics
You’ll apply through the Graduate School. Your application materials will include:
- Three letters of recommendation
- Statement of purpose: 500-750 words on your interest in public affairs, your career goals and why our program is a good fit for you
- Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended
