When visiting NIU, you will need to obtain a Visitor Parking Permit from Campus Parking Services or use pay-parking facilities (i.e. parking meters, pay stations or Visitor Parking Lot.)
Parking regulations are enforced 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, when the university is open (unless otherwise posted).
Visitors have the option to purchase a daily or weekly visitor permit any time online, using the AIMS (Automated Issuance Management System) permit purchase system, or at Campus Parking Services during the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The fee for the visitor permit will be based on the length of time the permit is needed: daily, weekly, or monthly. There are also parking meters and pay stations located throughout campus. Pay stations are located at the Student Recreation Center, Anderson Hall and the Campus Life Building.
If a visitor to campus receives a ticket for “No NIU Registration” for failing to have the proper parking permit, this particular violation can be reduced to the $5.00 “Visitor Fee” provided Campus Parking Services is contacted within 10 business days. If paying the reduced fine through our website, you must contact our office prior to making your payment at the reduced amount.
