Join NIU School of Music's Christopher Scanlon and Professor Pharez Whitted for a day dedicated to trumpet players! Throughout the day you will participate in a group warm-up session, masterclass, ensemble rehearsal, learn more about NIU and the School of Music and enjoy a special NIU faculty and student concert. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. in the School of Music Concert Hall Lobby. Group warm-up begins at 10 a.m. There is a scheduled lunch break at noon. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or visit any of the surrounding restaurants in DeKalb.

Includes event and T-shirt!

  • Cost: $20 per person

If you cancel five or more business days before the event, you may request a refund from Kristin Sherman at or 815-753-1450. No refunds will be made after this time unless NIU cancels the event.

3 p.m. NIU School of Music admissions information with Brigid C. Findley, admissions coordinator Concert Hall
3:05 p.m. Faculty and student concert, featuring Professor Pharez Whitted and Jazz Combo, Christopher Scanlon trumpet solo with piano, NIU Trumpet Ensemble joined by Trumpet Day participants, Banda NIU Concert Hall
7 p.m. NIU Wind Ensemble Concert, featuring NIU Trumpet Ensemble (optional) Concert Hall
