We connect the resources of the NIU College of Visual and Performing Arts with the people who live in the area. By offering a variety of programs, we bring high-quality arts education opportunities to people of all ages. Our programs are delivered by accomplished teachers, including many NIU faculty members.
We offer programs in three areas, the Community School of the Arts, summer camps and high school clinics.
Community School of the Arts
The Community School of the Arts provides instruction in music and the visual arts. Programs are offered in the fall and spring semesters, as well as the summer. They are geared toward many ages, from toddler to adult.

Summer in the Arts
Our summer camps are for middle and high school students interested in the arts. Campers participate in enriching activities and enjoy meeting other artists.
High School Clinics
Our clinics are for high school musicians and directors. Participants perform and learn from each other and NIU faculty members.
