Varsity Scholarships
Thanks to support from over 50 generous donors during our spring 2023 crowdfunding campaign, we've started the first NIU Esports Scholarship Fund. All our varsity players, including subs, received a $500 scholarship for the 2023-24 school year.
These scholarships are funded 100% by donations from our supporters. Please consider donating to our scholarship fund. Every donation makes a difference!
Fierce Gamer Scholarship

The Fierce Gamer Scholarship, founded in fall 2022, is just for NIU undergraduate students. Fierce Gamer is an esports fitness and wellness app created by Dr. Levi Harrison, the Gamers and Esports Doctor. An orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and wrist trauma, Dr. Levi believes in the importance of healthy gaming practice, focusing on physical, mental and social wellbeing.
Dr. Levi has started a scholarship exclusively for NIU undergraduate students. All sophomore, junior, and senior NIU students are eligible; you don't have to be a varsity player or an esports club member to apply.
This year, two students received a $1,000 scholarship. Each year for five years, Dr. Levi will add another $1,000 scholarship to the program.
