Students play video games at NIU Esports Arena

Discover Esports at NIU

From casual gaming to club competition to varsity teams, you'll find your community at NIU.

The arena is closed for Winter Break, but will open again on January 17 to celebrate a new semester and a new year. This spring, our Overwatch and League of Legends varsity teams will  once again compete in the Esports Collegiate Conference. They've been practicing all year, and we hope you'll cheer them on by watching their games on Twitch. Join our Discord for game announcements.

The Huskie Gaming Club is very active this year, participating in several game titles in the NECC conference. They also hold in-person meetings and events in the Esports Arena. Gaming For All also schedules fun casual events for student gamers in the arena.

Just want to play for fun? Any student, faculty or staff member with a valid OneCard can play for free in the Esports Arena. Play on our game consoles, PCs or VR headsets. Or just hang out - we have lots of soft seating for relaxing and tables to do homework or play tabletop games with your friends.

Remember to join our Discord for event announcements and pick up games.
