Teams Voice is the new solution for individual and departmental numbers. Faxes, elevator phones, labs, and classroom phones, have been migrated in-place to a modern analog calling system.
Features of the Teams Voice service include:
- 753/752 phone numbers available in Teams using the Calls screen.
- Voicemail transcription within Teams and sent to Outlook.
- Call people by name or number, not just by number.
- Improved directory searching capability.
- Centralized hub for collaboration, meetings, and calls.
- Supports work-from-anywhere situations without the need for a or having to take a physical phone with you.
- Web, mobile, and desktop applications for Windows, Mac OSX, iOS, Android, and Linux.
- Easily set vacation or other out-of-office notices from your mobile phone.
Departmental voice services:
- Teams Voice supports department phone numbers using a Teams Voice Call Queue
- Call Queues connect to a Team and members of that team can receive and make calls on behalf of the department phone number.
- Membership to the Call Queue is managed by a department administrator.
Rates
The fee for the Voice Services Package is based on the type of cost center:
- Administrative (excluding Grants) - approximately 97% of campus; voice services are centrally funded so there is no fee
- Grants / Outside Accounts - $25.00 monthly for the same package of voice services
- Teams IP Phone: In cases where a physical phone device is desired, you may elect to purchase a Teams IP Phone. The phone is a one-time chargeback of $350 to cover the cost of purchase. Please provide a cost center when submitting the request.
Note: Services provided by outside vendors are not eligible under either rate model. Charges are incurred directly by the requesting department.
