You can use Huskies Get Hired to search for internships and jobs on and off campus. When a major or degree program is mentioned in a listing, it's followed by a U or G to indicate if the position is intended for undergraduate or graduate students.
Use your Z-ID and MyNIU password to log in to Huskies Get Hired. Your account will be activated a few weeks after you start at NIU. To request earlier access, email careerservices@niu.edu and include your name, Z-ID and phone number.

After your initial appointment, you can continue to schedule appointments with the same counselor, up to once a week.
We welcome you to schedule an appointment with us to discuss topics unrelated to law, such as exploring alternatives to a legal career. For guidance within the field of law, refer to the College of Law’s career services.
We host an internship/job fair each fall and spring. Several meet-and-greet events with employers are also sponsored throughout the school year, by us and other campus departments. You’re welcome to attend these free events. At a recent career fair, more than 60% of employers indicated interest in both graduate and undergraduate students.
In addition, we conduct online workshops during the school year on topics like finding internships/jobs, using Huskies Get Hired and building your interview skills. These workshops are designed to benefit both undergraduate and graduate students.

Our major/career exploration tool can help you discover options. Simply choose your area of study in the Filter by Major drop-down menu to find information on possible job titles, sample employers, student internships, alumni employment and more. Or try filtering by career cluster. A career cluster is a group of career possibilities that share common themes and industries. Choosing a cluster can help you define who you are and what you want out of a career. You can also select one or more career clusters in your academic profile on Huskies Get Hired.
Another tool we provide is Focus 2 Career. This free, self-guided career exploration system includes assessments of work interests, skills, values and personality traits. It can also help you learn about careers that match your results.
You can schedule a private career counseling appointment using Navigate. You and your career counselor will discuss your situation, career options and steps to pursue your desired career. Counseling sessions are private and will not be shared with others without your permission, except in the case of possible harm to self or others.
