On the day of your scheduled visit, you can reach our office at 815-753-0446 with any urgent questions.
You’ll park in Lot H on the west side of the BAVC. As our guest, we're pleased to offer you complimentary parking for the day. Our campus utilizes a virtual parking permit system, so when you park, please complete the following steps to register your vehicle for the day.
Once your vehicle is registered, you'll have access to any non-reserved parking spaces on campus for the day of your visit only. However, we ask that you refrain from parking in spaces designated for service vehicles or marked as reserved, as those are intended for specific purposes. Please note that NIU cannot be held responsible for any parking citations you may receive if your vehicle is parked improperly.
Once you've parked and registered for parking, you'll head into the BAVC. When you enter the building, you’ll be greeted by our Northern Ambassadors.

Please note: Carroll Avenue is only accessible from Lincoln Hwy (Rt. 38). The road in front of Williston Hall (Normal Rd.) is permanently closed.

Once you've parked and registered for parking, you'll head to Williston Hall. From the visitor lot, head north to the MLK Commons and then east across the commons and Normal Road to Williston Hall.

While on campus, stop by our Holmes Student Center (HSC), home to our university bookstore – Huskie Books and Gear, as well as several campus dining options. If you’ve traveled a distance to visit us, consider staying at the Hotel at Holmes. Enter through the ground-level south entrance (off the MLK Commons).

Route 23 (Sycamore Road) is the highway that connects DeKalb (population 43,849) and Sycamore (population 17, 600) and is also home to many retail shops and restaurants, providing options for a variety of tastes. The county's health care corridor also lies along Route 23.
