Why Study Marketing at NIU?
Marketing is an exciting field. You directly influence how people interact with a brand, as well as how, when and why they buy one product over another.
There are many approaches and disciplines in marketing. With our innovative Bachelor of Science in Marketing program, you can specialize in one of four areas:
Or you can choose to customize your own program to achieve your career objectives.
You’ll have a competitive advantage after earning your marketing degree. You’ll have a portfolio of work examples (required for graduation for all marketing majors) that illustrates your mastery of specific learning objectives.
Our graduates are in demand. Students who complete our sales track curriculum have received sales positions with companies of their choice, and 90 percent of sales track students are offered positions prior to graduation. Those who graduate in our interactive marketing track are in demand in direct marketing service bureaus, advertising agencies and corporations that use direct marketing.
Internship opportunities are abundant as well, and the NIU Marketing Job and Internship blog facilitates the search.

"What I like about being a marketing major here at NIU is how companionable everyone is. Maybe that’s a College of Business thing but I feel like everyone is so easy to get along with in the marketing department. It opens up an opportunity for me to network with such a diverse group of companies."by Kevin Mui, marketing major
