Protecting the Pack Updates Related to the Start of the Fall Semester
August 20, 2020
Below please find several updates related to the start of fall semester.
A campus COVID-19 dashboard has been added to the Protecting the Pack website. This dashboard will report anonymous positive COVID-19 test and recovery result data on students, faculty and staff who have physically been on campus. Faculty and staff data are grouped together as “employees” on the dashboard. This information will be updated daily, Monday through Friday, beginning today to coincide with students returning to campus.
New Guidance on Face Masks
The Protecting the Pack site has been updated to reflect recent research that shows that bandanas and gaiter masks—made of thin, stretch tubes of fabric down the neck— do not effectively prevent the spread of COVID-19, and therefore are no longer acceptable face-coverings to use while on campus. If needed, please coordinate with your office manager to order face masks and other COVID-19 supplies through the Central Stores website.
Communication to Students
President Freeman and Provost Ingram sent a communication to students today about expectations for their responsibilities for the fall semester.
Protecting the Pack Website and Return to Work Training
As a reminder, the guidance on the Protecting the Pack website and frequently asked questions are constantly updated to reflect the latest guidance on COVID-19 campus protocols, so it is important to regularly review the information covered on that website. If you have not completed the required Return to Work training yet, please do so as soon as possible.
Thank you for supporting the health and safety of our community as we begin a new and unprecedented semester.
