NIU official announcement
Guidance on Reopening Facilities and Spaces for Research, Scholarship and Artistry
May 14, 2020
Dear Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students,
In anticipation of the potential expiration of the Illinois stay-at-home order at the end of this month, I am writing to inform you of our intention to gradually reopen facilities and spaces on campus for research, scholarship and artistry. Toward that end, the Division of Research and Innovations Partnerships, in collaboration with the Return to Research and Graduate Studies Task Force, has created detailed guidance that will follow a phased approach and require approval processes and specific safety measures. As always, our top priority remains the health, safety and well-being of our faculty, staff, students and stakeholders. Note that all scholarly activities that have been executed in a remote manner should continue remotely and are unaffected by this guidance. If you have specific questions that are not addressed by the guidance document, please contact Jessica Cima at jcima@niu.edu. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
