Scope of Care

Our nutrition coaches are graduate nutrition students in training to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. They provide nutrition support for general health and well-being, sports nutrition, and some medical conditions such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Nutrition Coaches are supervised by our campus dietitian nutritionist, Meg Burnham, M.S., RDN, CSSD, LDN.

  • Nutrition coaches do not provide nutrition support for complex medical conditions such as new or uncontrolled diabetes or eating disorders.
  • If you are an NIU student with complex conditions or eating disorders, you are eligible to seek the care of Meg Burnham.
  • If you have complex conditions and are not an NIU student,  please contact your insurance carrier for a listing of in-network dietitian nutritionists.
    • Please reach out to Meg Burnham if you need assistance locating a nutrition professional.

"I was really satisfied with my experience with nutrition coaching! I learned extremely valuable information that relates directly to my life and that I will be able to use for years. Overall, I feel like I understand nutrition at a much deeper level than I used to, which has led to me feeling much more confident in my nutritional decisions."by Kaitlin M.
