Scope of Care
Our nutrition coaches are graduate nutrition students in training to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. They provide nutrition support for general health and well-being, sports nutrition, and some medical conditions such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Nutrition Coaches are supervised by our campus dietitian nutritionist, Meg Burnham, M.S., RDN, CSSD, LDN.
Nutrition coaches do not provide nutrition support for complex medical conditions such as new or uncontrolled diabetes or eating disorders.
If you are an NIU student with complex conditions or eating disorders, you are eligible to seek the care of Meg Burnham.
If you have complex conditions and are not an NIU student, please contact your insurance carrier for a listing of in-network dietitian nutritionists.
Please reach out to Meg Burnham if you need assistance locating a nutrition professional.
"I was really satisfied with my experience with nutrition coaching! I learned extremely valuable information that relates directly to my life and that I will be able to use for years. Overall, I feel like I understand nutrition at a much deeper level than I used to, which has led to me feeling much more confident in my nutritional decisions."by Kaitlin M.
