Master of Science in Mathematics
Our Master of Science degree in mathematics is available in four specializations:
We also offer the Master of Science in Teaching degree. This degree is designed for licensed teachers who wish to enhance their knowledge of middle school mathematics education.
Degree Requirements
To receive a Master of Science degree in mathematics, you must complete 30 semester hours. You must also either pass a written comprehensive examination or prepare and give an oral defense of a thesis.
You can complete the M.S. degree in two years of full-time study (or possibly one year, with the addition of the preceding and following summer terms).

Teacher Certification
You can seek certification to teach at the middle and secondary school level as you pursue your Master of Science degree in mathematics. You can accomplish this by completing a student teaching practicum and taking courses from the College of Education. The additional requirements for teacher certification will take an extra year of full-time study to complete.
