Using the Pantry

We don't want any Huskie to go hungry, not for a single meal. If you're a currently enrolled student and need help getting food for any reason, we're here for you.

We're open on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and Thursday from 5-7 p.m. If you need help outside this time, contact us at studentassistance@niu.edu or 815-753-8300.

We expect everyone who uses our services to follow NIU's health and safety guidelines and the policies in the NIU student handbook.

How to Use the Pantry

  1. Please bring your NIU OneCard.
  2. Twice a semester, you are asked to complete an intake survey when you arrive. Your information remains strictly confidential. The data gathered is used to apply for grants, to improve our operations and gain a better understanding of our students' needs.
  3. You will check-in and enter the pantry in the order you arrive. If there is a large group waiting to use the pantry, ticket numbers will be distributed. You may enter the pantry when your number is called.
  4. Shop and select your items and check out with a volunteer.
