Project Prevent and Address Bullying Behavior at All Tiers

Project Prevent and Address Bullying Behavior at All Tiers (PPABB) is a $1.25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to help train future school psychologists and special educators on how to protect students from bullying and engaging in bullying behavior towards others and build positive environments in schools where bullying is less likely to occur.

At the current time, all participants for the project have been recruited and have completed or are completing the program.

Five Grant Components

Current Scholars

Scholars are students from the specialist in school psychology program and the master’s in special education program at NIU who are participating in the Project Prevent and Address Bullying Behavior grant. Previous Grant Project

Our current grant project was preceded by a previous $1 million grant NIU was awarded in 2015, called Project Prevent and Address Bullying (PPAB). This grant had a similar initiative to our current project, but the previous grant was focused on addressing Tier 1 bullying behavior (less severe bullying), while the current grant has evolved to focus on addressing bullying behavior across all tiers (tiers 1, 2 and 3).
