Mentoring and Student Success at the Center for Black Studies

The Center for Black Studies offers a multifaceted, multipronged, mentoring approach to support student success. We are committed to the success of all students and offer initiatives that center the needs, interests and success of the multiple identities our students hold.

Black Student Achievement Program

The Black Student Achievement Program centers its work to support those from Black and African American diasporas. All are welcome to participate.

The Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) aims to support the retention and graduation of Black identified students by providing:

  • Academic and personal support to first year and transfer students
  • Transition to college support through peer mentoring assistance
  • Assistance in navigating the college environment

Following the principle motto, "we lift as we climb," our vision is to facilitate graduation for all participants.
