Transfer Merit Scholarships
We automatically consider every transfer applicant for a renewable merit scholarship based on cumulative GPA. There’s no separate application.
| Cumulative GPA | Award |
|---|---|
| 3.50 to 4.00 | $2,000 a year for two years |
| 3.25 to 3.49 | $1,500 a year for two years |
| 3.00 to 3.24 | $1,000 a year for two years |
Ask your transfer counselor about additional opportunities, including our AIM HIGH Transfer Achievement Award and our Huskie Legacy Award, or explore our transfer scholarships. To see what your award would apply toward, review tuition and fees and estimate your cost.
The Honors Advantage
Our University Honors Program is built to welcome transfer students, not just first-year students. A peer mentor and our admissions team review your transcript to identify honors-level credit you have already earned, then help you choose between Associate University Honors and Full University Honors based on your timeline.
Two competitive scholarships are also available. Meeting the GPA and Honors Program requirements makes you eligible, it does not guarantee an award.
Honors Transfer Scholarship
COD is one of six community colleges eligible for this $1,000 renewable award. Requires a 3.20 cumulative transfer GPA and Honors Program admission, and a 3.30 NIU GPA to renew.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Active PTK members with a 3.50 cumulative transfer GPA who are admitted to the Honors Program are considered for a one-time $1,000 award in their first full-time year.
