What did you want to be when you were growing up? Are you pursuing that as a major, or have you taken another path?
Growing up, I never had a specific career in mind, but I always knew I wanted to help people. My inclination to assist others has been a constant in my life, and this passion remains strong today. To pursue this passion, I am studying psychology with the goal of helping those who struggle with mental health issues, which is a cause that is particularly meaningful to me, as I have faced similar challenges myself.
What is your major (and/or minor) and why did you decide on this course of study?
My major is psychology, with minors in sociology and family and child studies. I chose this course of study because I am passionate about making a difference in the world by helping those around me who are struggling with mental health issues. Additionally, I am passionate about understanding family and child relationships, as well as the societal influences that affect individuals. My interest in clinical psychology drives me to pursue these fields, with the goal of providing support to those in need.

Yes
Tell us about the research you are doing and why it interests you.
I researched test anxiety and how it affects students' grades and mental well-being. I focused on students with higher-than-average test anxiety to see how negative self-perception impacted their grades and GPA. This was particularly fascinating to me because test anxiety is a challenge faced by many students, me included. By studying this phenomenon, we can develop more effective strategies to support students and enhance their educational experiences.
