Self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 daily using the #CampusClear App

The app is currently in a test phase while details are finalized, and the platform is fully configured and tested with pilot groups. The app will be ready for campus use by Aug. 15. More information on downloading and using the app will be available at that time.

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms can appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms might have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

The #CampusClear app, available from either the Android or Apple app stores, will ask users each day whether they have any of the symptoms mentioned above. If any of these symptoms exist, the user will receive instructions regarding next steps.

Notify the university and follow instructed guidelines in the event of testing positive, being exposed or experiencing symptoms

As outlined in self-reporting guidance, students, faculty and staff will call the COVID-19 helpline (815-753-0444) and if necessary, self-quarantine or self-isolate.
