  • Services are available in a non-face-to-face format.

ACCESS Tutoring and Support Services
Art Museum
  • The Art Museum galleries are closed on university holidays and between exhibitions.
Bursar's Office
  • Our preferred method of payment is online on MyNIU. Payments by mail or cash are accepted within the Cashiering Office with limited in-person hours. See make a payment for the most up-to-date information.
  • Bursar staff are available by phone at 815-753-1885 and email (Bursar Email Form) to review student accounts and advise on payment options Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Additionally, personalized, remote appointments are available with account counselors Monday - Friday through our online appointment app.

Career Services
  • Career Services is currently closed for in-person visits. All of our services are available online.
  • Online appointments can be scheduled by calling 815-753-1642, Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • Students can also e-mail with your name, Z-ID, major, email address and phone number and we will contact you to assist with your needs. If you are in need of technology platform accommodations, you are encouraged to put this information in your email. 
  • Visit our website to learn about upcoming career fairs, workshops and online help sessions on a variety of career planning topics.
  • For employers or others with questions about engaging with us, please email and we'll reach out to you to assist with your needs.
Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning
  • CITL continues to work remotely and is available via phone and online during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
  • In-person by appointments are available for help with One Button Video Studio, Multimedia Studio or to provide support that cannot otherwise be accomplished online.

Center for Student Assistance
  • The Center for Student Assistance is available as a call-in service for students.
  • In-person appointments will also be available in the Campus Life Building, Room 150. Please call to make an appointment ahead of time if possible. Office hours will be available Monday – Friday, 8 a.m – 4:30 p.m.

  • The CSA can help students get connected to support for questions related to off-campus housing, food insecurity needs or legal matters.
  • Emergency food bags are available through the Department of Police and Public Safety.
  • The CHANCE Program will be operating on a remote basis
    until further notice.

Child Development and Family Center
  • Temporary hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 
    8:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m.

Community Counseling Training Center
  • Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • In-office individual counseling services are limited.
  • Video-conferencing and phone-conferencing telehealth counseling sessions are available for minors, adults, couples and families.
  • Request our services through our secure online client web component. 
Counseling and Consultation Services
  • Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS) continues to provide telecounseling support through video or phone appointments. CCS is open during office hours for mental health emergencies and students who need private accommodations for telecounseling appointments.
  • Call 815-753-1206 to get support for yourself or someone else. CCS staff will help you determine the next steps. Please call first so we can maintain all COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. 
Cultural Resource Centers

The cultural resource centers are available remotely to answer questions and address concerns.

Disability Resource Center
  • The Disability Resource Center office on campus will be open with limited staffing during normal business hours, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
  • All student appointments and intakes continue via a virtual platform.

Educational Technology, Research and Assessment (ETRA)
  • Our staff are working remotely Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

    • Wednesday: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Educator Licensure
  • Our Esports Arena in Neptune North is closed to students and guests until face-to-face classes resume.
  • We invite you to play with and against others throughout the NIU Community in Esports Online Pick-Up games. Join us on NIU Esports Discord and pass the time with friendly competition!

Financial Aid and Scholarship Office
  • Services available via phone or video call, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Jerry L. Johns Literacy Clinic There will be no face-to-face tutoring programs at the Jerry L. Johns Literacy Clinic until further notice. Clinic personnel are working on an online tutoring program. We will be partnering with Littlejohn Elementary school in DeKalb at this time, so no open enrollment will be available.

NIU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic
  • The NIU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • There will be no walk-ins for the hearing aid clinic, but we are offering curbside hearing aid repair appointments throughout the week. 
  • Please call 815-753-1481 to schedule an appointment with an audiologist or a curbside repair appointment.
NIU Physical Therapy Clinic
  • The NIU Physical Therapy Clinic is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

OASIS - Student Involvement

  • OASIS staff are rotating days in the office. There should be in-person assistance available every day during standard operating hours, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Parking Services
  • The Parking Office lobby is closed to in-person service.
    • Appointments can be made as necessary.
  • Staff remains available between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • All transactions for purchasing permits, paying tickets and ticket appeals can be done online. 
Pick Museum
  • The gallery is only accessible through advanced ticketing available through Eventbrite.
Registration and Records
  • Registration and Records offices are closed to the public.
  • Staff are working remotely and are ready to help you with services such as transcripts and apostilles.
  • In-person appointments may be scheduled for our services which require notarizing a signature or cannot otherwise be provided remotely.
