Welcome Desk
The Welcome Desk located on the ground floor of the Holmes Student Center is staffed during operating hours by student employees. Services offered at the Welcome Desk include customer service, wayfinding, HSC Lost & Found, and general campus information. The desk can be reached by calling 815-753-1924.
Other Services
The Holmes Student Center partners with on and off campus entities to provide services including 2 ATMS, 4 vending machine options from Pepsi & Canteen, 3 Anywhere Printers and The College Grind study area with public computers. External campus departments and offices include the University Ombudsperson, the Employee Assistance Program, Organization and Student Involvement including, Student Government Association, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Campus Activities Board and Student Wellness; Orientation and First-Year Programs, and the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning (OSEEL). Food and beverage options include Starbucks, Qdoba, Ellington’s, The Grill at the Huskie Den, and the Depot.
The Huskie Den – Bowling and Entertainment Center
Residing on the lower level of the Holmes Student Center, the Huskie Den Bowling and Entertainment Center houses recreational activities including sixteen bowling lanes with a state-of-the-art automatic scoring system. Along with bowling, the Huskie Den contains eight pool tables, and a short walk upstairs to the conveniently connected Huskie Grill offers another three pool tables. TV's and Arcade Games line the perimeter walls, with ample seating provided in the center facing our stage. The stage features independent speakers from the music playing throughout the center, as well as a projector screen. The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education offer Bowling Classes. Weekly bowling leagues and intramural programming occur during the evenings of the academic semesters. Internal and external groups and organizations can schedule late night activities and events.
