The NIU Hotel at Holmes is located within the Holmes Student Center conveniently located in the heart of the NIU campus.
The 75 guest rooms and suites are nonsmoking, feature free wireless internet access, microwave and compact refrigerator, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and coffeemaker. Guest rooms have either one king bed, two twin beds, or two queen beds. Each room has a private bathroom.
We offer three executive suites on the 15th floor that shares a common space that includes comfortable seating, ottomans, side tables, wet bar with sink and refrigerator.
There are three family suites on the 2nd floor and a limited number of adjoining rooms are available upon request. Three rooms on the 2nd floor are equipped to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities. Complimentary parking is included in the hotel room rate.
As individuals or as groups, the following are invited to use the NIU Hotel at Holmes.
- NIU Alumni—the hotel offers a discounted rate to alumni.
- Conferences—the hotel offers a group rate to conference attendees that have reserved a block of rooms.
- Parents of Students—we have a “Stay three, the fourth night is free” program for parents of students to help promote repeat business.
- University Guests—The hotel rooms may be used by people who represent companies interviewing students on campus for future employment, speakers and performing artists, special guests of the university such as visitors from around the world and those who are conducting business with the university.
- Visiting Athletic Teams—all visiting athletic teams are welcome to use the hotel. Teams may contact the hotel directly to reserve rooms.
- Student Use and Guests of Students—NIU students and their guests are encouraged to stay at the hotel.
- General Public, Bridal Groups, Religious Organizations, Youth Groups, Social Groups, and Corporate Business—the general public is always welcome and may contact the hotel for personal reservations not relating to university business as they would at any public hotel.
