How We Get Counted

On-campus Students

Residence Halls

Students living in the residence halls will be counted through a process called Group Quarters Enumeration. The university will share information with the census on all students who would have been living in the residence halls this semester. If you live(d) in the halls, you won't receive census mail or a code, and you don't need to take any action.

Northern View

If you lived in Northern View, you'll be counted as an apartment, not an on-campus residence hall student. See the section below for off-campus students.

Off-campus Students

In March, each household will receive a piece of mail from the U.S. Census Bureau that will contain a census ID number/code. Each household will complete one census form that includes information about each person living at that address.

If you're no longer living at your college apartment, you may not get the code in the mail. You can complete the census form online or call 844-330-2020.

If you're no longer living with your roommates, communicate! One of you will need to fill out the form for everyone.

View the video below for step-by-step instructions on how to complete the census.
