NIU and the DeKalb community offer a range of child care resources for students who are parents.
NIU Child Development and Family Center
The Child Development and Family Center offers quality care to children ages three months - five years (pre-kindergarten). The center is licensed through the State of Illinois. The center's excellence is reflected in its accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and its inclusion in the Gold Circle of Quality by ExceleRate Illinois. The center also received ExceleRate Illinois' Award of Excellence in Family and Community Engagement.
4-C: Community Coordinated Child Care
4-C: Community Coordinated Child Care assists parents in finding reliable child care on and off campus and will help with financial assistance for child care costs for those who qualify.
