CLAS Educator Licensure

Want to teach at a high school?

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) provides programs leading to an Illinois Professional Educator License (teacher certification) at the secondary level, grades nine – 12 in the following nine subject areas.  The NIU CLAS-Educator Licensure programs provide a rigorous and sequenced course of clinicals and course work that lead to your success in passing the state-required edTPA test and then getting a teaching job.

100% of all CLAS educator candidates in spring 2017 passed the edTPA!

For information on a specific program, its course of study and how to apply, go to the program websites:

Already hold an Illinois Professional Educator License? We can help you add secondary-level endorsements in these content areas.
