Career and Technical Education in Illinois

Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Illinois provide instruction for careers in high-wage, high-skill and in-demand occupations for K-12 students. CTE programs aim to strengthen students’ technical skills, support the transition to college and employment and close achievement gaps to help all students meet Illinois Learning Standards.

College and Career Pathways

The State of Illinois supports College and Career Pathways for in-demand industries, ranging from Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources to Information Technology.
