Program Pillars

The Boey Honors Program pillars are designed to align with eight career-readiness competencies defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers that can be found on Huskie Career Launchpad.

The Boey Honors Program pillars are:

  • Pillar 1: career and self-development
  • Pillar 2: cultural education
  • Pillar 3: leadership and service
  • Pillar 4: professionalism

Members may achieve 'lower division' or 'upper division' status depending on the pillars they select to complete:

Lower Division

Completion of two designated pillars.

Undergraduate students must complete:

  • Career and self-development (100 points)
  • Cultural education (complete experience set)

Graduate students must complete:

  • Professionalism (100 points)
  • Cultural education (complete experience set)

Upper Division

Completion of four pillars.

  • Career and self-development (100 points)
  • Cultural education (complete experience set)
  • Leadership and service (complete experience set)
  • Professionalism (100 points)

Recognition Upon Graduation

Members will receive recognition for their pillar achievement:

  • Lower division
    • Certificate of completion
    • 3.0 GPA Honor cord
    • Boey Honors Program stole
  • Upper division 
    • Certificate of completion
    • 3.0 GPA Honor cord
    • Boey Honors Program stole
    • Medal of achievement

Deadlines for Pillar Completion

To receive recognition for the completion of pillars in time for graduation, please complete all requirements and documentation by the following dates:

  • December graduates: November 15
  • May graduates: April 15
