Residential Huskie Bucks (Optional)

Process for $150 Fall Huskie Bucks Add-on 

As a student planning to live in the residence halls for spring 2024, you have an option to deposit $150 in Huskie Bucks on your OneCard by charging it to your Bursar Student Account. For students receiving financial aid, the Residential Huskie Bucks charge may be covered by some or all of your aid.

Huskie Bucks is the only way students can:

• Print at any of the AnywherePrinters on campus.
• Eat at any location on-campus and many locations off-campus.

Residential Huskie Bucks cannot be used to purchase transcripts, bowling and billiard or non-food items (e.g., coffee cups, etc.). For students receiving financial aid, the Residential Huskie Bucks charge may be covered by some or all of your aid.

Eligibility

You must be enrolled in classes and be charged housing on your MyNIU account for spring 2024 to be eligible.

Sign Up for $150 Huskie Bucks in MyNIU

In MyNIU, go to Tasks tile > To Do List > Optional Huskie Bucks Deposit. You can sign up starting November 20, 2023, through January 26, 2024 (by 4:30 p.m.). 

By signing up, you authorize NIU to use any credit balance of federal financial aid (after payment of tuition, student fees, residence hall and meal charges) towards payment of the Residential Huskie Bucks charge. A $150 charge called Residential Huskie Bucks will be added to your student MyNIU account and the Huskie Bucks funds will be available according to the schedule below:

Additional $50 Deposit

If you feel $150 is not enough funds you can request an additional $50 and charge it to your Bursar student account by emailing the OneCard Office at onecard@niu.edu.
