Admission Requirements

Gain your professional advantage by applying for admission to NIU. Once admitted, you must complete the B.G.S. in Health and Human Sciences program application.

Admission to the B.G.S. in H.H.S. requires a current professional credential,  certificate or license in health or human services, completion of an applied associate program (or equivalent number of credits) and admission to NIU as a regular degree seeking student.

Transfer to NIU by following these steps:

1. Submit an application, indicating an intended major of "undeclared health and human sciences"
2. Submit your official transcripts

Apply to the B.G.S. by following these steps:

1. Complete the B.G.S. program application
2. Submit B.G.S. application, including written professional goals statement and copies of appropriate professional credentials, certificates or license to this address

Once accepted, you’ll meet with a Health and Human Sciences advisor to review your previous course work, discuss appropriate courses to meet your goals and plan the most efficient way to finish your B.G.S. in Health and Human Sciences degree.
