NIU Tip Line gives out cash rewards to callers who provide information that leads to an arrest or a finding of guilt by the University Student Judicial System. The Board of Directors ultimately decides the appropriate amount that is awarded to such callers. Rewards are possible up to $250.
All rewards are handled as a "blind cash pick-up at a pre-arranged location". This means that once a Tip Line operator has told you that you are to receive a reward, you will be told of a location. When you get to this place you will ask for an envelope with your code number on it. Inside you will find your reward money in cash.
You should remember to be patient. It may take a few weeks until you finally get you reward since the Tip Line Board of Directors meets only once each month.
