What It Means to Be a Huskie

We know a good fit affects your entire college experience, and our priority is to make sure all Huskies feel at home. We value uniqueness and celebrate diversity as one of our greatest strengths. We customize resources, programs and events to ensure you not only have fun and thrive, but also feel welcome, included, safe and valued. Here you can lead and succeed in both life and your career by being who you are while you discover who you will be.

But what does it mean to be a Huskie? It's more than just excelling in studies; it's about making your mark, sharing your voice, getting involved and developing your passion. And trust us, it's pretty darn awesome.

So buckle up, Huskie! You're about to embark on an epic journey, and we couldn't be more excited to be along for the ride.

As Huskies, We:

  • Are full of #HuskiePride.
As an institution, we adhere to our Mission, Vision and Values; as a community, we live by the Northern Pact; and as individuals, we honor our Student Code of Conduct. We take pride in being curious and creative, studious and innovative, unique and diverse, and compassionate and passionate.
  • Know that Huskies. Never. Quit.
When we start something, we see it through to the finish. Our grit and determination make us persistent and help us overcome challenges. When we identify our dreams, we chase them—full steam ahead.
  • Move “Forward, Together Forward.”
Taken from our fight song, “Forward, Together Forward,” is a motto around here. As a Huskie, you’re part of a community, including a network of 250,000+ alumni, that are here to ensure you succeed. We believe that relationships are resources and asking for help when we need it.
  • Celebrate Mission Mondays.
Chances are you will run into Mission, our live husky mascot, when you are on campus on Mondays. He regularly visits offices and events to make sure your week starts off on a ‘pawsitive’ note. Be sure to follow him on Instagram to be part of his weekly adventures.
  • Wear Red and Black on Fridays.
One of ways we show our #HuskiePride is to end the week by wearing Red and Black.
