Why did you choose to attend NIU?
The Global MBA program was perfect for me.

What did you want to be when you were growing up? Are you currently doing it? If not, what changed your path?
All my life I have dreamt of being very successful in my endeavors, and I have constantly achieved goals I set for myself. It has always been business administration for me, and I hope to place the icing on the cake by earning a doctoral degree in business administration.

What is/was your profession? And, if applicable, what is your current title and employer?
Management consultant

How did NIU prepare you for your current profession?
NIU offers very robust learning opportunities. All of its faculty members have a lot of experience and are among the best in their field.

Describe what a typical day at your job looks like.
I work on goals as assigned and attend to clients’ needs.

What are you most proud of in your professional career?
I have done pretty well for myself. I have earned two MBA degrees and couldn't be more proud. I have 13 years of professional work experience and have been recognized for my impact in entrepreneurship, as well as with over 20 awards.

Share the impact NIU has had on your life. How would your life be different if you hadn’t attended NIU?
NIU is my biggest blessing. Studying at NIU changed my career, life and perspective on global business.

Who at NIU had a significant impact on you? What valuable lesson did you learn from them?
I have to say, quite a large number of people had a great impact on my life, including Professor Anthony Preston, Professor Mark Groza, Professor Amanda Ferguson, Professor Eunha Myung, Ramona Ruiz and Timothy Dimond. It would be hard to ever forget these people. They helped me bring my authentic self to class and work and were available anytime I needed support.

Did you form any long-lasting friendships or personal/professional relationships as a result of attending NIU? Tell us about them.
Yes, I did. I was able to build connections with all my classmates and my professors.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at NIU?
I have a lot to share about my experience studying at NIU. I enjoyed being able to make it to class easily (thanks to the NIU buses that help students commute swiftly). The professors for all of the classes I took were great. I had several opportunities to work in teams, carry out presentations and learn a lot about several things. For example, I didn't know a lot about international business before joining the program.

What advice would you give to a student who is considering attending NIU?
I would say that NIU is the best thing that could happen to anyone on a journey to achieving greatness and developing oneself. If I had to choose a public university to attend yet again in Illinois, it would be NIU. The university has well-experienced and seasoned professors who are excellent at what they do. You never remain the same once you take a class at NIU.

What advice would you give to a student who is currently attending NIU?
My advice would be that they should work hard, endeavor to use all of the fantastic academic resources NIU provides and, most importantly, be committed to learning and build friendships that will last.

What made you decide to complete this survey and share your NIU story with other Huskies?
I chose to complete this survey to tell my story about the huge impact NIU has had on my life and to inspire people all over the world to choose NIU as their preferred institution of higher education in the U.S.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your NIU Huskie story?
NIU is the best place to pursue academic goals and aspirations. The entirety of the faculty and staff are there to help you achieve your goals, and the people are ever so kind. In all my academic pursuits, I have never witnessed a system that provides such strong support for its students.
