Capital equipment [1] and property purchased or loaned for use on sponsored awards must be managed in accordance with state and university policies and applicable federal laws and regulations set forth in the Uniform Guidance, or other terms and conditions of the award. The most restrictive rules apply. The federal government specifies tagging, use, maintenance, reporting and disposal requirements for property accountable to federal grants and contracts.

[1] Capital equipment is defined as tangible personal property having a useful life of more than one year and a per unit acquisition cost which equals or exceeds $5,000.
