Advisors

The fraternity and sorority community depends on the support of chapter and faculty advisors, and international and national headquarters staff. These engaged volunteers are essential to the continued growth and success of our chapters.

What does it mean to advise a chapter? You’ll encompass several roles at once. Advisors are supervisors, educators, counselors, mentors and problem-solvers guiding their students. They are more than a signatory power, and integral to chapter operations.

Types of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors

  • Faculty advisors (concentrating mainly on scholarship issues)
  • Chapter/graduate advisors (concentrating mainly on chapter operations such as leadership, recruitment/intake, standards, etc.)
  • House corporations (concentrating on housing issues, for those groups with houses)
