Application Materials
Your application materials will include:
- Statement of purpose (250-750 words) that outlines your preparation for graduate study in Spanish and Hispanic studies, your goals for graduate school and beyond, and why you believe our program can best help you meet them.
- Two letters of recommendation from individuals who have a professional or academic relationship with you and can speak to your ability to succeed in a graduate-level program in Spanish and Hispanic studies at a large public institution.
- Writing sample (16 pages or more, double-spaced) in Spanish, without any notation from an instructor, in Microsoft Word or PDF format. You can combine two or more papers to meet the page requirement, if needed.
- Interview that allows you to demonstrate your spoken Spanish skills and showcase abilities and experiences that might not be evident in other application materials.
