What You Can Expect

CHANCE coordinates a robust, integrated campus-wide support system to help you succeed. As a student enrolled in the CHANCE Program:

• You will join us for CHANCE Advantage, your first introduction to our team and our campus partners. This is when you’ll learn all about the program, what is expected of your participation and the many ways we’ll support your success at NIU.
• You will take part in a leadership conference featuring speakers on various topics, such as career advice, managing stress, time management and negotiating campus.
• You'll have the opportunity to join the nationally recognized honor society, Chi Alpha Epsilon.
• You’ll be matched with a successful student mentor through our Peer Mentoring Program.
• You will be connected with a wide array of campus resources to help you succeed.
