Lichuan Liu's research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, biomedical signal processing and intelligent sensing technologies. Her work develops AI-driven approaches for analyzing respiratory sounds, infant crying, sleep-related sounds and other biomedical signals to support healthcare applications such as disease screening and patient monitoring. She also investigates the use of generative AI and intelligent tutoring systems in engineering education, along with smart sensing and active noise control technologies. Supported by federal agencies, foundations and industry partners, her research emphasizes translating innovative AI technologies into practical solutions that improve health, learning and quality of life.
